Network of Excellence
Local programs and champions are essential for rabies elimination, as well as dog welfare in communities. However, long-term success depends on strong coordination, shared learning, and collaboration. The aim of GARC’s Network of Excellence is to provide ongoing technical support, enhance professional capacity, and foster collaboration across communities working to sustain rabies elimination and dog health and welfare. Through the Network of Excellence, GARC promotes DHCs and RCEs to an international audience, exposing them to a wider pool of collaborators and potential donors.
Through the Network of Excellence, we:
- Provide structured ongoing learning with a focus on community dog welfare.
- Strengthen collaboration between RCEs within and across countries.
- Provide ongoing technical support on rabies elimination and dog welfare interventions.
- Promote innovation and learning, including better use of data and technology.
- Increase visibility of DHCs and RCEs and their programs through dedicated feature articles published on GARC’s website, social media platforms, as well as through partner organizations and the wider media.
- Support scale-up of effective, humane dog vaccination and population management strategies.
- Facilitate and coordination knowledge exchange between DHCs and RCEs.
