GARC’s position statement on dog culling for rabies control

Mass dog culling is still a method being used in some countries to try to control rabies outbreaks but it has been shown to have no long-term impact on the control of rabies within cities, or across countries such as Ecuador, Indonesia and Bangladesh. It is a waste of time and resources that could be used instead to put in place a sustainable, effective rabies control programme.
